Extraordinary Genetic Experiments
The human mind wants and dreams an ideal world. People should be perfect; they should be able to come back to life, and all the diseases to be eradicated. Geneticists worldwide put their mind to contribution day and night, hoping that one day all this will become reality. Sometimes, without realizing it, they find themselves carried away by science and imagination and sometimes violate the boundaries of morality.
The most accessible genetic research includes genetic experiments on animals. From the recent scientific experiments, many researchers have found out of the ordinary and sometimes frightening results.
Why would anyone cross a goat with a spider? The answer is easy: to obtain in large quantities a substance more expensive than gold: the spider silk. Geneticists from Nexia Biotechnologies in Quebec with those of U.S. Army's Soldier Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM) in Natick, Massachusetts have found a solution for producing spider silk in laboratories. The experiment appears to have been a success as they created a goat that looks like a goat, acts like a normal goat but produces milk that contains a special protein that it has been discovered in spider’s silk. Treated in a certain way, the milk can lead to getting a pretty good imitation of spider silk.
Another extraordinary experiment was made by Japanese scientists that have managed to clone a frozen dead mouse for over 16 years. The experiment is considered a huge success as they thought there is a chance to revive extinct species such as mammoths or fearful tigers Smilodon. Of course, critics argue that this success could have adverse effects on mankind and that there is a risk of a macabre industry, to 'restore' the life of deceased relatives. It is the first experiment that used the cloning cells of a corpse since the birth of the famous Dolly.
